About
Us

Our coaches pride themselves on developing individualized training plans that take into account the stresses and schedule of one’s unique life. We believe the greatest value in having a coach is facilitating an athlete’s intuition. Ultimately, this consciousness will lead to injury reduction and stronger performance with better training and racing consistency, and create a life with better balance.

The reality is that a seldom few of us are out there training and racing for paychecks; this is our way of life, our love, self-discovery, and necessity for physical and mental health. We look forward to joining you on the journey!

About Doug

Doug has a broad background in sport; from equestrian, traditional team sports, and snowboarding in youth, to four years of collegiate rowing while attending Bates College in Maine, and the University of Otago, New Zealand. Post-college, Doug coached rowing at Middlebury College, the University of California Santa Barbara, and Bowdoin College.

Soon after graduation, Doug found the sport of triathlon to fill all competitive voids. He has raced extensively, qualifying for numerous World Championship events, including the Ironman World Championships in Kona. Aside from coaching endurance athletics for the past decade, Doug has also been immersed in the equipment end of the industry. Specializing in how equipment interacts with athletes, he has performed hundreds of bike fits and run gait analyses. His articles have been published in Inside Triathlon and Outside Online.

Doug loves all things out of doors especially when shared with his family; wife Hannah and two children. He is available to coach triathlon, Xterra, mountain and road cycling, rowing, running, adventure racing, paddling, equestrian events and snowboarding.

About Sarah

Sarah is a lifelong athlete and student of sport. Turning down a pro deal offer to play soccer in France post-college, she pursued a new sport instead and soon thereafter laid claim to 3 Ultimate Frisbee national championship titles. After retiring from Ultimate she turned to triathlon and has accomplished podium finishes in all distances, is a 2-time Kona qualifier, a 70.3 World Champion (AG) and a 2-time 70.3 World Champion runner-up (AG).

As a mother of 4 busy children, Sarah fully understands the challenge of balancing life’s demands with athletic pursuit and performance. Sarah enjoys working with novice and elite athletes alike, meeting the client where they are in their training and focusing on realistic and inspiring goals for each individual.

Fully versed in the science behind the plan, Sarah enjoys taking the guesswork out of people’s training by using data to drive the balance of intensity, volume and recovery. Sarah is a firm believer in strength and mobility, working to bring a combination of both to every athlete’s plan.

About Robin

Robin Brown has found a way to combine two things she loves in life, exercise and food. Robin owns and runs Using Food To Fuel which is a nutrition coaching business. A few of the areas she has focused her studies on are as follows:

  • Nutrition to maximize athletic performance
  • Nutrition for weight management
  • Nutrition for various disease states (such as Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes and Celiac Disease)

Robin rowed competitively at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she rowed primarily as a lightweight rower. From that experience she learned a lot about the important role that food plays in athletic performance and how performance weight management is essential to the success of a lightweight rower. In 2002, she raced in a lightweight 8+ that placed 5th at the National Intercollegiate Rowing Championships. She has completed multiple half and full marathons and enjoys the training process. Robin’s philosophy on nutrition revolves around balance and moderation. She will aid in creating a nutrition plan that is periodized around personal training, creates healthy eating habits, and still satisfies one’s emotional connection to food.
